The Intensive Trauma Treatment Centre is officially open in Brisbane

March 9th, 2025

After months of purposeful work, the ITTC marked its official opening, bringing together clinicians, partners, and frontline services around a shared commitment to evidence-based trauma care.

The purpose behind the brand

The purpose behind the brand

PTSD does not announce itself politely. It disrupts sleep, distorts memory, and erodes the ordinary fabric of daily life. For approximately one in ten Australians living with the condition, finding effective, timely treatment can feel as difficult as the disorder itself.

1 in 10 Australians are estimated to experience PTSD during their lifetime, a figure that underscores the scale of need the ITTC was built to address.

The Intensive Trauma Treatment Centre was established with a clear purpose: to apply what international research consistently shows. That intensive treatment formats produce positive clinical outcomes, and often more quickly. Our model draws on the trauma expertise of Psytrec in the Netherlands and uses proven therapeutic approaches including EMDR2.0 and Prolonged Exposure Therapy, delivered within an intensive structure designed to accelerate recovery. 85 to 87% of participants will lose their diagnosis which is double the reported effectiveness of traditional models of therapy. You can read more on that here.

Our primary clinic is located in Stafford, Brisbane, with a second clinic serving clients in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast. Both are now open for referrals for PTSD and adjustment disorder.

Celebrating the official opening

Although the ITTC has been treating patients for some time, the official opening gave us the opportunity to gather the people who make this work possible, and to show them, concretely, what that work looks like.

Guests arrived to a coffee cart before moving inside to the clinic reception, where the formalities were led by our CEO Brodie Moore, alongside Dr Grant Blake, Dr Claire King, and Dr Jens Gaarslev of Daintree Psychiatry, our colleagues who share the Stafford space. Attendees were then guided through the clinic, experiencing first-hand the treatment environments where EMDR and exposure therapy are delivered.

We were thrilled to be joined by:

Daintree Psychiatry Medibank QBE Insurance Suncorp Group Queensland Police Service Queensland Fire Department Queensland Ambulance Service Local Government Representatives

The presence of Queensland's frontline services was particularly meaningful. Those working in emergency response, policing, and fire services face disproportionate exposure to traumatic events. Having these organisations in the room seeing the treatments and meeting the clinical team will hopefully translate into people getting the help they need sooner.

What the ITTC Treats

The ITTC specialises in PTSD and complex PTSD, as well as Adjustment Disorder. Our clinical team uses an intensive treatment model, meaning patients receive a higher frequency of therapeutic contact over a shorter period than is typical in standard care.

Referrals are now open. If you are a treating professional looking to refer a patient, or an organisation seeking to discuss partnership, we welcome you to get in touch.
